Wednesday 12th June - bike *** – Two rivers, Orwell to the Deben –
mainly cloudy with some light rain.
Walk *** - Felixstowe prom to Jacobs Ladder.
We had a message from Jay first thing asking if we would like to go the the
Wednesday toddler group with Maeva this morning as her Dad was on holiday,
this is the same toddlers our boys went too 33 years ago and we went to
many years when we were childminders! We had a quick breakfast and walked
town to the church in Felixstowe town centre and quickly said hello to the
lovely lady who ran it when we were still using it, in fact we meet a few
people for a chat we haven’t seen for years! We found Maeva in the church
having fun with mum and dad and she was surprised to see us. We had a
lovely hour watching Maeva enjoying herself, loving the dolls and her ride
in the big red car. Mag bought a cuppa in a really safe mug with a lid,
much safer than the cup and saucer we used to get and a large jammy
dodger:) We were one of the last to leave and as Maeva headed for home very
tired, Mag and I walked to the cliff top for our daily walk, it was very
still with the sea flat but with some cool dark clouds passing overhead.
Down through the Spa gardens and all the way to the end of the prom at
Jacobs Ladder, I got some lovely pics to send to the TV weather but sadly
they were not picked:( Then back along the prom turning up through the Spa
gardens and home. For the second day running warming cuppa soup was the
order of the day for lunch before Mag drove to Lidl while I headed out on
my bike!
Bike *** - two rivers, Orwell to the Deben.
I was tempted out on my bike with the breeze being fairly light but sadly
it had picked up a little by the time I set off! The usual route down
through Langer Park eventually leading to the dock view point where I
stopped for awhile watching containers being moved before doing a circuit
of the nature reserve and back to the prom which was OK with a tail wind.
Fludyers, then The Dip and onto Felixstowe Ferry where I stopped for a
snack and watched the ferry head off and then home across the golf course
in miserable drizzle! Then home for a hot water bottle, a cuppa and a cake
Mag got me from Lidl, top day, we have a run SW winds so hope to get out
windsurfing, fingers crossed the rain stays away!
